My grandpa was a pastor and unfortunately had dementia before he passed, he didn't remember his wife or kids but he could still preach and teach about Jesus.

My mom was the same way. Couldn’t say a cohesive sentence but would sing hymns and quote scripture perfectly.

I work in memory care, they forget everything nearly everyday, don’t remember family members but if one starts humming or singing a gospel song they ALL sing along. Gives me chills everytime!
