@sisterly_companionship: Replying to @chicken_fried_fortune #CapCut #scary #police #dispatcher #call #murder #family #hunted #childhood #nightmare Wallace had not been employed full time for years. He said he needed her help in preparing for job interviews, but she wasn't responsive to his problems. He moved in with his mother in 2009. His life at her home near Lake Oswego mostly consisted of smoking cigarettes, drinking and playing video games. The shootings were triggered by a seemingly innocuous comment Juarez made to Wallace, who took it as a snub. After an explosive confrontation with his mother and Juarez, Adrien Wallace said he was certain that he would be forced to move out of his mother's home. Wallace shot them as they attempted to flee. Wallace immediately called 911 to report the murders. He said he briefly thought about shooting it out with police, ending his life in a suicide-by-cop and finding out "what's on the other side." A psychologist who spent 50 hours interviewing Adrien Wallace concluded Wallace suffered from psychosis that began in childhood. Wallace received orders from God to "attack and kill" on the day on June 4, 2012, the day he shot Saundra Sue Wallace and Nicholas "Nick" Juarez, psychologist Henry Miller testified. Miller diagnosed Wallace with paranoid schizophrenia. "I don't think he knows the difference between what's happening and his imagination," Miller said. Wallace did not mention the so-called "command hallucination" to detectives who interviewed him just hours after the crime, noted prosecutor Chris Owen. He first disclosed it nine months after the murders. Owen traced Wallace's history of mental health treatment and confrontations with his mother and others. Between 1986 and 1999, Wallace was evaluated seven times by psychiatrists or psychologists. Each time the diagnosis was similar: moderate or major depression. No one concluded Wallace was psychotic or schizophrenic. Just because it wasn't diagnosed doesn't mean Wallace wasn't suffering from schizophrenia, Miller said. Defense attorney David Falls told jurors that murders were the act of a man who suffered a tragic psychotic break that was a long time in the making. Wallace battled mental illness and depression since childhood, Falls said. His condition continued to deteriorate and went into a steep decline after he moved in with his mother, Falls said. His parents -- both successful professionals, Sue Wallace was a licensed clinical social worker before she retired in 2000 – divorced when he was a child. Wallace was considered a highly intelligent child but categorized in grade school as a loner. He had difficulty communicating with others and didn't fit in, Falls said. Wallace had no friends. He went to work; he went home; he took his prescribed psychiatric medication, Falls said. After the blowup with his mother and Juarez, Wallace was distraught. He went to his room, intending to use his rifle to kill himself, Falls said. Wallace, however, had made a promise to God that he would not commit suicide, Falls said. "He believed the only thing he could do was shoot his mother and the other person in the car.”

It is so sad that families can be so dysfunctional that people snap. Too bad he didn't get away from his family sooner so he could have a life.
