Most notably, it frames the text as a "Visayan hymn to Bathala." In reality, Bathalà was strictly a Tagalog deity, while ancient Visayans recognized creator gods like Kaptan or Kabaian. While 16th-century Spanish sources like Miguel de Loarca’s Relación de las Yslas Filipinas (c. 1582) and the Boxer Codex (c. 1590) recorded actual Tagalog spiritual practices, such as catalonan mediating with anito and watching for omen birds like the tigmamanukan, no ancient record of this chant exists. Anthropologist F. Landa Jocano and historian William Henry Scott both highlight how Bathalà functioned within the Tagalog worldview, but this track uses the chant purely as a modern creative interpretation rather than a historical reconstruction.
