Nicht nur ihre besondere kräftige gelbe / orange Farbe mit teilweiser rot gescheckter Musterung, sondern auch ihre Variabilität machen diese Zuchtform so reizvoll. Keine der Zwerggarnelen sieht im Aquarium aus wie die andere. Die Koi Sunburst Garnele ist wie andere Neocaridina Zerggarnelen einfach in der Haltung und sehr friedlich. Sie stellt dabei keine hohen Ansprüche an die Wasserwerte und ist deshalb für Anfänger sehr gut geeignet. In einem Gesellschaftsbecken kann die Koi-Sunburst Aquariumgarnele mit Schnecken, Zwergflusskrebsen und anderen friedlichen Bewohnern vergesellschaftet werden. Auch eine Haltung mit kleineren Fischen ist möglich. Achtung: Fische vergreifen sich unter Umständen an kleinen Garnelenbabys.
