Postal Clerk here! It doesn't look like a lot of stamps but there's 20 on there lol. Long time ago they were like tiny books just never changed the name.

The book of Christmas stamps I bought was almost $20.I started telling my husband a story of when I went to the PO with my Gpa & a book was 35c. He said you’re old now, you complained about the cost😂

There’s little strips in the middle that peel off, then you can “tri-fold” it. Boom you have a “book” 😂

it actually used to come in book form. but gradually it has changed to be what it is today and they simply kept the name. but it did used to come in a book
