@findingphilothea: What would you add to this list of things NOT to say in conversations? One of the many reasons I love the art of etiquette is that it honors both the person in front of us and ourselves. It’s important to be considerate in our speech. Of course there are different levels of intimacy in relationships, and some of these sentences may at times be appropriate: an inquiry out of love, in private. For example: a spouse, out of love may say to the other: “You look so tired, how can I help you throughout the day today?” Here I think of Saint Paul’s words: “Speak truth in love.” (Ephesians 4:15) However, for the majority of our acquaintances, and especially when you first meet someone, saying these things could really stop the conversation, and leave an unfavorable first impression. “You look so tired!” “Have you lost/gained weight? You look great!” “Are you pregnant?” “When are you having your next one (baby/child)”? “How much do you make in that line of work?” “Why aren’t you getting married yet?” “Are you sure you want all of that to eat?” #conversationaletiquette #etiquette #speechetiquette #christiandating #hostingetiquette #guestetiquette #etiquette #etiquetteinstructor #certifiedetiquetteinstructor #etiquettetips #etiquette101 #etiquetteteacher #etiquettetricks #dignity #philotheafound #etiquettecourse #etiquetteguide #christianmom #catholicwife #christianblogger #happyeaster #dallasblogger #christianinfluencer #polite #levelup #speaktruthinlove #kindnessiscontagious #catholicfamily #catholicetiquette
