I usually run a mixture of brake fluid and transmission fluid through the brake booster vacuum line cleans the lifters great I've never put it in the oil

I have a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche and I don't run regularl motor oil in it. I run diesel motor oil in everything and I never had any problems with lifters ticking .I put it in everything .

most REAL mechanics use Valvoline to start with....and a half quart of marvel mystery oil....guaranteed to work...been there done that
