Why do we waste our time and energy on people who, I’m sorry to say, don’t want us, at least not how we want them. Because they trigger something in us, that part of us that fears rejection, fears being abandoned. Them not wanting us like we want them or not wanting to commit to us feels like a rejection so now that part of us wants to know and prove that we are worthy of commitment and love so we chase, we make exceptions, we compromise our boundaries and we end up anxious and feeling abandoned. Does this resonate? I speak from experience but not anymore. I’m not perfectly healed because I’m not sure anyone ever is. I still get triggered but I’m self aware enough to know that it’s just my triggering and not FACT! I don’t make choices or take actions from that triggered space. I allow it to pass because I know it will. How have I managed to change my pattern? My loving and accepting myself. All of myself. By creating more self worth. By learning to value and respecting myself. By reminding myself that I am worthy and deserving of LOVE and not just breadcrumbs and so are you. Creating a better relationship with myself has been game changing for me, my boundary setting and my emotional state. I love myself, I feel safe and I can say no to people whose wants don’t align with me. I’m no longer drawn to unavailable men but instead I find them a turn off!
