Here are a few tips when it comes to building the hatch of your DIY Camper: • If you are not using our Kit, the easiest way to create your hatch spars is to use a scrap piece of thin plywood to trace the curve of your galley wall. Then use 3/4" plywood and make each spar thick enough so it won't bow. • While assembling the frame and skinning the hatch, constantly check to make sure everything is square!! A warped hatch won't seal properly and no one wants that. • Make sure your hurricane hinge overhangs the side of your camper. This will direct water down the wall and away from your hatch.
