@philipdefranco: Botswana Threatens To Send 20K Elephants To Germany #germany #uk Botswana is threatening to send 20,000 elephants to Germany and 10,000 elephants to London. Earlier this year, Germany considered implementing strict limits on the import of hunting trophies in order to curb poaching. And Botswana’s President says that banning the import will only hurt locals. It turns out conservation efforts have exploded the elephant population to over 130,000 and they have no natural predators. So the President says “Germans should live together with the animals in the way they are telling us to”. Apparently the elephants cause damage to property, they eat crops, and trample people. Botswana says it’s a gift to Germany and they will not take no for an answer.
