I usually use a A4 paper then mark the date I purchased the meat & Ice Cream, label the expiry date & stuck it on the freezer marking it off as they are used & replaced - much easier.

I got shopping baskets off Amazon, like the ones from the grocery store. They stack perfectly in the deep freeze and no mysteries in the bottom.

deep clean the freezer in spring? I do it as soon as the weather stays below freezing so I can use my porch as a freezer 🤣
