As long as you aren't using anything toxic or hazardous and include allergy warnings there should be no issue😳😳 Personally I find fondant inedible so whats the difference w decoration🤷🏼♀️

Candles aren’t edible… many cake toppers aren’t.. as long as the cake is cake; decorations can be either 👍🏻

Not a take one way or the other but I had a friend use edible flowers on her cake where you were intended to eat the decorations. So I can see where there could be some confusion.

I wouldn’t eat anything that had stems shoved in it. The stems absorb water that could be treated and it’s not safe.

While I agree that not everything has to be edible, flowers cause concern, because a florist said that they could harbor small little bugs, unforeseen to the eye, & that was a turn off for me.🤷🏼♀️

I agree! As long as you make it food safe and non-toxic it doesn't have to be edible! I made a Moana themed cake; I used decorative shells/stones & just removed them before serving!

I love making fondant flowers, and rarely use wires. to each their own. best cake I made was a house in winter with snow, snowman , Christmas tree Santa's sleigh and Santa's feet in the chimney. 1 wir

As long as the person who orders/receives the cake knows and nothing is toxic, go for it!! Some results arent possible with edible items!

I'm a bit stubborn and make everything with buttercream, ganache or chocolate so it's all edible. I'm just a home baker though so obviously not trying to make realistic flowers with buttercream 😂

Most kid birthday cake orders I do, the parents prefer toys or action figure decor because it’s something the kid can keep after; no product waste
