@miller_zoo: It’s spring, and Buddy is waking up 🌼 Buddy is 19 years old! His left front leg was caught in an illegal trap when he was a young wild bear, so he is now missing his left paw. This is why he was never able to go back to the wild. But he now lives a very peaceful life with us and his bear friend, Winnie. In the wild, black bears live an average of 10 years.
