makes me wonder, I've had a couple surgeries. the worst part is, if I'd been asked I'd have said yes bc I get people have to learn, but not even being asked!?

I allowed a med student to do a pelvic exam when I was in labour, and I allowed student midwives to come in and watch my birth.... but I was asked and gave my consent. That's the key.

i had several knee surgeries as a tween. they always had me take my underwear off under my gown. i remember thinking that was weird. this makes me wonder if that happened to me.

In my state in Australia they unknowingly put an iud in if you go for endometriosis surgery and a lot of time don’t tell you and you don’t have a choice

my friend was a student Dr and yes... mostly on pregnant women for some weird reason they conduct experiments and have students perform surgery

I had a surgery on my ovaries & was explicit about not wanting to participate in a pelvic exam they waited until I was given meds before the OR to try to get my signature again, super unethical

I found out when I finally got my notes that they had done an exam while I was under they damaged nerves and I bled for over a month and couldn't understand why my legs were numb and felt off

(1)I have goven permission for student doctors and nurses to do procedures on me in the past. But I GAVE PERMISSION! If something was ever done to me while I was out for surgery without my knowledge..

I had a cystoscopy and the guy performing it told me afterwards that he “went ahead and did a pelvic exam” since he didn’t see it in my chart
