The Mercedes was doing the right thing. Use both lanes until you merge. Don't sit in traffic causing congestion for 5miles when a lanes closed ahead 🙈

That’s the problem with too many people thinking they know best, doesn’t make it right, use both lanes, merge at turn…that’s why you get the big tail backs!

Lucky blocker didn’t get seen by police. I’ve seen them pull them over for this. Should always merge in turn and use both lanes, helps reduce the distance of backlog of traffic, as per Highway Code

You can’t merge in turn by undertaking the queue though. That becomes a driving offence.
