my mom is an intervention teacher and is still under pressure to teach the kids the same lesson as the rest of their class..like why put them in intervention if they can't relearn concepts they missed

THIS 😭. my district is requiring 30 min phonics lessons for Kinders. They should not be expected to do anything for more than 10 min at a time.

As a 3rd grade teacher, YES YES YES! We are also required to do a test prep unit that is 4-6 weeks of instruction on how to prepare for our state test. WHY are we teaching to a state test? Why…?

And they keep lowering the passing rate on our standardized tests. If they only need to master 40% of concepts to "pass," maybe we're doing too much??

That’s literally the prompt for the 3rd grade standardized test, CAASPP, in CA. They have to site their sources! I think of it every time I hear X kids are not reading at grade level.
