@the.holy.egypt: The oldlest Throne in History ➖ Detail of the splendid throne of King Tutankhamun that was found in his tomb at the Valley of the Kings. He reigned circa 1336-1327 BCE under the 18th Dynasty. It is made of wood lined with gold leaf, and inlaid with silver, colored glass paste and semi-precious stones. The detail depicts the king seated on a throne while his consort Queen Ankhesenamun anoints him with perfume or ointment from a pot she holds in her left hand. She wears the crown of Hathor, goddess of love, and he wears an elaborate atef crown with cobras balancing solar disks. Each wears only one thong sandal! While Tutankhamun has it on his left foot, Ankhesenamun wears one on her right foot, indicating that it is probably one and the same pair.
