I’m 51. I survived the SF 89 earthquake and the Northridge earthquake in 94. Yes, I still ignore most tremors. 😂

Northridge was after that. I was also at the World Series for that 89 earthquake and it took like 12 hours to get home to Concord

The one in 89 I was in it. All those people stuck and dying on the cypress absolutely horrific. Part of the bridge collapsed also horrible

I don't think flexing our earthquake prowess is helpful, but is SoCal not a part of California suddenly? Landers/Big Bear on the same day and Northridge 2 years later just didn't happen or?

Don’t forget northridge in 1994 was a 6.7 and ridgcrest in 2019 was a 7.1. The San Fran one was big, but younger California generations aren’t newbies to bigger than 4.5 quakes

The Northridge earthquake was 1994. That’s why we have a weeks worth of food and water at all times 🤣. 4.5 is a nice rock me to sleep 🛌 quake

I’m 44, Californian. I remember’89. It was so bad!! In CA though, we have small ones all the time, you barely feel them. Even a 5.0 is like whatever, no big deal

There are earthquakes all the time in California some small enough that we in California don’t even notice. Look it up. I think flexing is justified considering NY people flex on us about rain or snow
