there were a lot of knights is full plate armor that fell off there horses and got stabbed when they were stuck on the ground (there are gaps in armor) and a lot of knight drowned

Many swords were made to brake bones as well, not just cut. Many swords aren’t even seriously sharp.

different armors for different things. but also, you may not cutthrough someone but you could cause internal bleeding from blunt force trauma
