There is an effort to try and categorize obesity as a disease - and when you start to entertain that idea of labeling it as a disease or genetic disorder, this no doubt will start to open up the floodgates for more drug treatment to treat that disease. Just what America needs…more prescription drugs. I believe obesity is related to excess consumption of linoleic acid, which is an omega-6 polyunsaturated fat. And one way linoleic acid increases your weight is exactly why people get excessive munchies when they consume cannabis. Linoleic acid stimulates endocannabinoid receptors in your gut, just like what cannabis does, and this causes people to eat a ton. And, if you ever consumed cannabis, you know you aren’t craving things like steak, eggs, and veggies. Nah. You are craving those ultra processed, hyperpalatible foods that contain a ton of…..you guessed it. Linoleic acid. And then that linoleic acid will activate more of your endocannabinoid receptors and it turns into this vicious cycle. When looking for solutions to obesity, I think it’s important to stop looking for the quick fix. There is no magic pill for obesity. Don’t play the victim. Instead, drastically reduce linoleic acid intake. This is in almost all packaged, ultaprocessed foods, as it makes up all the processed seed and vegetable oils, like canola, soybean, sunflower, corn, and safflower oil. These oils are what fast food and restaurants use mostly, so its best to prepare your food at home if possible. Therefore, a good start to this is ditching the ultra processed seed oils and cook instead with tallow, butter, or ghee. #healthiswealth #healthylifestyle #health #wellness #selfcaresunday #huntingtonbeach #losangeles #tips #holistichealth
