Here is some advice for new radiology students from a seasoned technologist: SAVE & SHARE 💚 My advice is to take a nice LONG vacation and spend as much time with your family before you begin radiology school. The next two years in a radiologic technology program will be intense! Here is some key advice once you begin the program: 1. Attend all classes and pay attention. You'll be covering critical content that builds from lecture to lecture. 2. Ask plenty of questions. Don't allow anyone to intimidate you or make you feel bad for asking questions. The best technologists continue to ask questions even decades into the profession. 3. Study anatomy and physiology extensively. Believe me, you will need this foundation for understanding positioning, pathology identification, and protecting patients. 4. Practice positioning techniques thoroughly. No matter what imaging specialty you move into, understanding proper positioning is vital. Be a pro at this! 5. Develop excellent radiation protection habits. Imagine if someone didn't take protection seriously and you were the patient. Stay vigilant. If you're as passionate about radiology and medical imaging as I am, let's connect! My podcast has tons of content you can listen to and gain valuable tips for entering and navigating the radiology profession. Reach out anytime!
