@ravenreveals: like can y’all please stop 🫠 ⬇️ debate and dialogue are core Jewish values. but in this moment, it feels like any dissent or disagreement is immediately shut down by many individuals in our community as a reactive / self-protective measure. for those who have been able to hold space for disagreement without resorting to invalidating people’s Jewish identities, i see you and deeply appreciate you. and for those who have not, i invite you into reflection. we can and should be able to disagree without questioning and interrogating one another’s Jewishness and belonging. that kind of behavior, at least to me, seems antithetical to Jewish values. it is precisely because of Jewish values like tikkun olam and pikuach nefesh that i desire dignity and safety for the Palestinian people. my heart remains heavy as we continue to witness the manufactured annihilation and starvation of our siblings in Gaza. i truly am at a loss of words at this point. how many ways can you articulate the same truth that what’s transpiring is wrong and must stop immediately? kapo definition: “Imprisoned in concentration camps, Kapos were enemies and victims of the N[otzees]; they were Jewish inmates who were forced by the N[otzees] to serve as ‘stand-in’ guards.
