Another day, another movie studio using AI… I’m so surprised that A24 would go this route. They built their brand on originality. On being unique. On taking risks. And now their new “AI Division” is being developed to take humanity out of filmmaking. Asking ChatGPT about your characters motivations? Dumb. Using it to visualize scenes instead of sketching storyboards? Dumb. We are so close to Wall-E. We are so close to a society that is so dumbed down that we can barely function without our phones and AI companions. We are so close to losing the arts to machines. I reject that world. I hope others do too. And A24 should do better. Every movie studio should do better. Use AI to replace tasks like data analysis and manual work that takes hours - great. That’s a natural evolution of technology. But with that should come more time for arts and creativity. And yet corporations are using AI to replace the creative jobs. Make it make sense. I can’t wait for the first movie that is “micro-targeted” specifically for me because some AI machine said I would like it…
