@diggydagg: I LOVE to see this progress but I dont understand how it’s possible???? He’s completely paralyzed from the waist down. His reflexes still work (when we do toe tickles he’ll kick every so often) but it looks like he’s trying to pull himself up into a standing position here. Idk if that’s a conscious effort or not but maybe he’s on his way towards spinal walking??? 🤞🏼 #dogsoftiktok #paralyzeddog #disableddog #maltipoo #fyp #dog #boise #idaho
This happened to my dog and turns out she had a herniated disc in her spine. She got surgery and now she’s back to normal. This is the hardest thing ever to go through. Stay strong you got this!

❤It means determination! Our dog was diagnosed with IVDD and had a successful surgery which took time but hydrotherapy was so helpful. Swim vest and a crate of water and you can see what he can do.

Oh that’s so good have you tried slowly having him somewhat put weight on those back legs with a sling? Like one you hold to support him?

Spinal walking, the nerves from the brain can't send down a conscious signal or recieve signals back from the limbs, but the never behind the site of injured spinal cord are still normal

Have you tried those paw grip stickers? Seems like he might be more successful with a little grip on those toes

This looks like the beginning stages of Spinal Walking, which is GOOD. Put rugs literally everywhere. He'll continue to improve and rugs will help with grip when he doesn't have strength.
