The BRABAR Movement has significantly impacted the bra industry in the U.S. by advocating for the standardization of bra sizing methods, specifically promoting the adoption of the global rib cage method. Prior to this movement, many traditional bra fitting techniques, such as the "plus 4" method and the armpit (APIT) method, were widely used. These methods often resulted in ill-fitting bras, as they added unnecessary inches to the band size or relied on less accurate measurements. Recognizing the discomfort and lack of proper support these outdated methods caused, BRABAR championed the rib cage method, which focuses on measuring the true size of a woman's rib cage to determine the correct band size. This approach ensures a more precise and comfortable fit, catering to the unique shape and size of each individual. Starting in 2019, BRABAR actively pushed for this method to be recognized and adopted across the U.S. market. Through educational campaigns, consumer awareness initiatives, and direct advocacy within the industry, the BRABAR Movement has successfully influenced retailers, manufacturers, and fit specialists to reconsider and update their sizing practices.
