It will be the formation of a brand new state, we won't simply be joining the ROI. Any and all of these things will take years. I imagine a brand new police force would be established.

Drew Harris gives me the ick 🤢 they’d have to do something about the Garda uniforms. The reg plates should stay yellow up the north but with the numbers like down south like 201 DY for Derry.

Given North has already a different format plate to rest of UK - I can imagine it continuing on for transistion period - just with EU flag back on - technically the pre-87 plates are still legal

other thing to consider is yearly car tax. I pay €200/year for a 2.0 litre 180bhp diesel (2018) - google says car would be £220/yr in North (€257/yr)
