in my family, this has been watered down to pretty much "let me water you because you are a flower and I want you to bloom" and make little poems and spray with a bit of perfume, it is a lovely thing

Actually this is a traditional thing, but really rare. Mostly this thing is done in very old and traditional villages like Holloko. The most common is to go around the friends, family, say a poem

I’m from Hungary from a little village where we live max 300 people and yeah that’s tradicional and i love it 😂 once i got 6 buckets of water and 8 soda siphons at the same time ✌😅

it wasn't like that, it was a tradition to pour water on them because they are flowers so they would bloom, in reality it was in the morning when girls were dressed in white dresses they slept in ⬇️

Also it was switched to perfume with a nice poem(or a bit vulgar one)about the tradition *locsolkodàs* in the nowadays. And the girls giving away chocolate eggs and sometimes palinka.👀

There is no kiss involved at all. They give water (perfume this days) and girls gives coloured eggs. For young boys adults gave small money at my childhood.

it was about the purifying nature of water which brings clarity. Now it is with perfume, it is usually the male family members or friends who sprinkle the girls/women, in return they get chocolat eggs

absolutely not, they knock on the doors, they tell a nice poem to the girls and ask permission if they could water them (like flowers) so they don’t “dry out”, nowadays they use perfume
