Svarer @Arwa 🎀 On September 22, 1885, R. D. Gray demonstrated an apparatus for the New York Society of Amateur Photographers. It was the first model of what would become the best-known hidden camera. Gray's Vest Camera, as it was called, was disc-shaped and mounted behind a stiff, fake shirt front. The lens was disguised as a shirt button. The apparatus could take 6 pictures on an octagonal glass plate, which was rotated using a knob that also protruded from the shirt front. In 1886, Gray created a new model that was flat enough to be concealed under an ordinary vest, allowing him to dispense with the fake shirt front. Carl P. Stirn acquired the rights to this camera, and in July 1886, it was patented in most European countries. His brother, Rudolph Stirn, produced the camera in Berlin from the same year. They were sold under various names, such as Secret, Waistcoat, Le Curaisse, and Geheim, and became very popular. At least four models were produced, the most common of which took 6 round pictures with a diameter of 41 mm on a round plate, which was 140 mm in diameter. Production: 1886 - 1890 (Approximate).
