Styles was already a registered sex offender, having been jailed in 2016 for the physical sexual assault of a boy under the age of 13. Despite having completed a specialist sex offender treatment program during his previous incarceration, Styles admitted to investigators that he retained an active, unhealthy interest in underage boys. Recognizing his total failure to rehabilitate and the acute danger he posed to child safety, Judge Martyn Levett ordered his immediate return to custody for 40 months.
