@tchaoskin: being on tretinoin does not always equate having healthy and clear skin— it is only beneficial if your skin can tolerate it! the data on retinoids to help with anti-aging is based on consistent and long term usage. if you are constantly getting on and off tret for weeks at a time because your skin is irritated, flaking and your barrier is compromised, then it would be far more beneficial to be on a lower strength retinoid like retinal or retinol that you are using more consistently i personally think a lot of people who tolerate tret tend to be Fitzpatrick Type 1 or 6 (Caucasian or Black individuals) but a lot of Asians like me (Fitzpatrick 3) tend to have more sensitive skin and dont seem to tolerate tret as well — it’s important to choose products that work for you! don’t get on tret just because you see everyone else hyping it up on Tiktok #tretinoin #antiaging #skincaretips #SkinCare101 #skincaretiktok #skincareeducation
