Shinkansen for under ¥2000 is a treat why would you discourage people from it. It’s so convenient and it takes roughly half the time. If anything I like the idea of it more now.

Do not ride the Kyo-train Garaku, it’s insanely packed lmao. Take a regular express from Umeda, or take Keihan.
