Honestly, I don’t drink and I don’t like paying for other people’s drinks. They’re the most expensive part of the dinner usually.

I’m the bill queen: I take everyone’s personal subtotal and multiply by 1.3. This covers tax and tip within Pennies. As the bill splitter I keep those Pennies or add to tip. Most tax is 6-10%.

I've never understood splitting the bill in the US. In Canada it's the norm to have separate cheques. I haven't encountered a single restaurant that assumes the bill is split. And it's very quick
