had my big dog lay down next to me at a park, little dog came and bit a chunk off my pups ear, owner looked at me and said "you should've moved him" as if his pup didn't just take a chunk of my dog.

I'm also confused about the fact that most dog owners won't let their dogs approach/sniff/get to know other dogs. Our 2yo Beagle just wants a friend who to play with but people with their dogs walk+

I totally agree, as the owner of a reactive rescue Pomeranian (who is never off leash in public spaces), I also see how stressful it can be for small dogs when people run up to them to pet them..

I work in a petshop and all the big dogs come in straight onto their back for belly rubs and kisses , but I’ve been bitten by a several small dogs with excuses like “oh sorry he’s having a bad day”

I get what u mean. All dogs should be well behaved or at least LEASHED, but there is a difference bc while my small dog could be annoying or cause damage, an unleashed big dog can lit kill mine🥹
