@americascanineeducator: Teaching your dog the "place" command comes before the SIT or the DOWN command for me! It's a pillar in all your other training, too! Sending your dog to a place changes your dynamic with your pack. It helps with the "stay" command; it helps with separation anxiety. It helps with impulse control, learning to settle, barking at the door, overwhelming guests... The list goes on and on. To get started, you need food, a leash, and anything other than the ground!
