When I told them I was going to have a different company do my alterations, they suddenly stopped pushing for a size up 😏 thankfully where I ended up getting my dresses didn’t push this at all

Sometimes they do say that because sample dresses aren’t like new dresses since they’ve been tried on a bunch. But if your measurements were lining up to the 10 then that’s what you should have gotten

as a wedding alts person- sizing up is /usually/ better so you can take in where necessary. but if the dress fits you perfectly go with that! (your dress is gorgeous!)

I tried on a 4 at the store and they had me order a 6 😭 My alterations are in May and I’m so worried about how she’ll fix the sizing… I’m so glad your dress ended up perfect

Samples sizes have so many people wear them, so they stretch out. It’s possible you would have gotten the 10 and it wouldn’t have fit. A girl at buzzfeed did the same thing & her dress didn’t fit

That’s crazy!!! If your intention were to lose weight after trying in a size 10, then wouldn’t it better to stick to the size 10? So only MINOR alterations would be needed? But you looked stunning 😍

I ordered their recommended size which was a size down, I couldn't even zip it so I lost 10 lbs in a month to fit it. I didn't want to pay an extra 500 on alterations lol

YES!!! I thought I was going crazy with my first seamstress and didn’t love the fit. Here I am 3 days away from my wedding and I took it to a second seamstress and I pick it up THE DAY BEFORE 😭

I bought one that was only available a size up and they told me to come back 1 month before the wedding to sew it my size. they said one month because many brides loose weight before the wedding

they tried to talk me out of trying on my size, which of course fit like a glove. I'm so glad I ignored their expertise, I even wore my dress 18 years later and still loved it.

This is so true omg the scoop neck that I loved in the size 12 is now non existent in a size 14 😩 now my seamstress doesn’t want to fix the neckline and she was half assing the hemming! I’m 5 feet what do you mean you’re not hemming the train!!! I’m scared!
