My daughter got my granddaughter who’s 10 a phone I don’t think a ten year old needs a phone but in todays world with everything going on at schools I understand now

that's not a reason. that's a lack of teaching her to take care of her stuff. my 10yo doesn't want one, but will have one in the fall for school. and not a $600 one. that's just asking for it to break

When I was that age, I never had a phone. I didn’t get a phone. Tell us a teenager and at that point I had one of those phones that only took minutes.

My 11yo got her 1st phone for her bday.. It cost $90 & we told her if she breaks it she is SOL.. She is very careful so far and has a heavy duty case on it.
