I actually want to know specifically what that geometric pattern on the wall is. It -looks- like acoustic foam, but it doesn’t look foamy? Is it just plastic wall tiles?

I'm somewhat similar. I always had roommates, or whatever, and I never really had a place to myself. Then when I got a place to myself, I found I had never created my own space. I just existed.
