I strongly recommend watching the news in Spanish. Good anchors generally have a neutral accent and speak at a good pace. That’s how I learned English.

My issue with this explanation isn't something a lot of people think about. Their sentence structure is completely different from ours. That's what gives me trouble. Great advice though!

this is awesome ! i also recommend watching Netflix and downloading the Google chrome plugin that lets you have both subtitles and hover over words/bookmark words you don’t understand

Just a tip. In English we use the verb “Im doing something” which is like estaba aprendiendo estoy haciendo etc. but it spanish it isn’t used very often at all. Just say aprendí español, hago, hice

¡Bien hecho! As a high school Spanish teacher, I encourage my students from day 1 to do all of these things. Only a few care enough to follow through. And I try to use 90% Spanish in class.

I talk to my dog in Spanish and when it's time to to to bed, I tell her "la cama" and she goes to her bed. Nowadays when I say "go to bed," in English she gives me a blank stare like ??? 🤣
