I couldn't handle self diagnosing. it seems off, I'm not a psychiatrist far from it 😭I just feel like you can't be 100 percent sure. When I got an official diagnosis the relief didn't compare.

I'm self diagnosed and any accomodations I need I can get though all my other diagnoses (adhd, POTS, narcolespy) even before I knew I was autistic, I got accommodations for it by those reasons.

Nurse here! I think Self Diagnoses is valid however if you can get diagnosed it’s helpful bc it could be something like adhd or bipolar or something treatable instead!

also like. the only services I've ever seen are exclusively for children. I was denied help with a diagnosis in college beyond a fidget toy. so....what services exactly

selfdiagnosing isnt valid. it causes issues foe us who actually are diagnosed, the same way fake service dogs cause issues for people with actual service dogs. and why would anyone want a diagnosis???
