@senahubi: Those Were the Days - Mary Hopkin Released as Hopkin's debut single in 1968. It was actually a cover of a Russian song called "Dorogoi dlinnoyu." The English lyrics were written by Gene Raskin. Interestingly, another singer, Sandie Shaw, also released a version of the song in 1968, but Hopkin's version became the bigger hit. It reached number one in the UK and Canada, and number two in the US (blocked from the top spot by the Beatles' "Hey Jude"). #fyp #cover #coversong #maryhopkin #thosewerethedays #60s #throwbacksongs #retro #nostalgia
