u need yo rake the word in context.. I call Chinese people Chinese.. its just a short word for Chinese takeaway we don't say it in a offensive way. in glasgow its used everyday

I think it's more a generational thing than a regional one. My long dead granny used to call it that but I don't hear it at all from people my own age.
