If they do it properly a membrane sweep is meant to be painful other wise no it will not work

Omg! This sounds like my Labour! I had 3 sweeps, didn't work, then got induced with pessary and gel and still nothing 😭!

I was in the same position as you, was 2cm dilated and cervix in a great position, had a sweep at week 29, 30, 31 and I went into labour the night I had my 3rd sweep 💕 good luck Mrs

My 4th baby took 4 sweeps, had it at 1pm, pains started around 6pm, got to the hospital at 7.15pm she was in my arms at 7.31pm x
