@disabled_eliza: ALL Disabled people should feel they are able to use the toilet they need without worrying!! Before I was visibly Disabled I would often get ‘called out’ for using the Disabled toilet when I needed to use it!! In the UK we have a separate toilet for Disabled person (own toilet space with own walls etc) and there are lots and lots of different reasons people need to use them! Please please dont shame anyone for using them! You also dont need to apologise when you see me waiting! If you have used the Disabled toilet ill trust you need it and thats that! If you aren’t Disabled and dont need the disabled loo for safety or space then please don’t! Simple as that! ❤️ Dungrees: @runandflyengland #Access: Video description: Video begins with Eliza a White fem wheelchair user with rainbow hair waiting with the text ‘Me a wheelchair user waiting for the accessible toilet’ we then see Eliza opening thr door stood up with the text ‘person without mobility aids leaving the room’ we then see Eliza having a pretend conversation between them and a stranger going back and forth. #Disabled #DisabledToilet #Education
for me the bigger space can be less overwhelming if i need to calm down in public ( autism )

My sister has epilepsy, and if she's having a bad seizure day, she'll use the disabled toilet because the door opens outwards, so if something happens we can get to her and she isn't blocking the door

I use these toilets when I’m on my periods because there is a sink. So it’s easier to clean my menstrual cup 😂

I have to use a disabled toilet bc I have autism and I hate the loud hand dryers and where I live all the disabled toilets are in separate like sections of the public toilets so I can’t hear them

My friend used to have to use the disabled toilet purely for the emergency cord. You couldn't tell she had a disability but sometimes she'd pass out and lose use of her legs so the cord was safer

Tbh I’m bigger so it’s harder to use the smaller stalls because they legit are the smallest things and it’s just a tight space

I have POTS & use it even if I don't have my mobility aid with me. This way if I fall, I won't end up more injured or stuck

I use them because I am usually alone with two children under two and it is the only place big enough to take a pushchair & safely confine a toddler.

yo lo uso para vaciar la copa y lavarme las manos porque solo ese tiene lavamanos, sino le toca salir con las manos como si viniera de la guerra

I'm autistic and public loos can be very hard for me, the cubicles are small and there are sometimes lots of people and noise, it's just a better loo to use and I won't get as overwhelmed
