Mazda did it better. Pilot bearing goes into the flywheel, so it doesn’t matter at all where the original engine came from. You bolt on a flex plate or flywheel, as they share the same bolt pattern.

Did a nv3500 swap on my 95 k1500, 4l60e out, hole in crank is there from factory for the pilot bearing, tapped on in and worked perfectly

chevy an cutlass have different building styles cutlass didn't have very many Manuel cars but chevy did so chevy that an if you one style of to work with both transmissions it makes cheaper for chevy

I used a pilot bushing one time in a Mustang I had cause the clutch shop didn’t have any bearings in stock and it squeaked
