As a 15 year technician, I never recommend to any one of my customers to run longer than roughly 5000 miles on an oil change on ANY type of oil.

You got a leak or burning oil and operator error for not checking oil level. 15k miles on oil didnโt have anything to do with it

Had an uncle that never changed his oil. New filter and qt of oil every 1000 miles. Had 420,000 on it when he passed.

I started using 10k drain intervals with my 2012 Toyota Tacoma when new. It currently has 200k miles on it with no issues and never uses a drop
