@lauralovesteaching: Do you feel confident in your ability to teach somebody else about the E Drop #spelling rule? Watch this video and then give it a try. The more you try to teach somebody about phonics /spelling the better you get at it. There are three main rules for adding suffixes to the end of bases. I have a video on the doubling rule where we save that short vowel in the base. I also have a video on changing the Y in the base to an ‘i’ before adding a suffix.
