No, Profe. This is wrong. Teachers agree to an annual salary when they sign their contract. While some teachers can choose 12-month or 10-month pay, that’s still the annual salary.

Ok but do teachers actually do nothing for all of summer break? That seems so unlikely to me. You need materials and lesson plans. Schedules need to be made, classes need to be set up.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but even if a teacher is contracted for 12m and have summer break technically off, that just means the pay is divided between the twelve months equally. So hourly is tech less

idk about yall but my teachers told us that during summer they plan lessons and build their classes (particularly higher level/ap classes) so they are in fact working over the summer
