@aserealty: What’s with these Toronto straits that disappear and reappear kilometres later? Where did they go? Was it once a continuous street? I have so many questions. #toronto #torontohistory #streets #torontotiktok #torontolife
Leslie ends at Steeles East and Don Mills ends north of Steeles but then becomes Leslie 😳

Keele south of Bloor is called Parkside, and north of St Clair becomes Weston. But then randomly reappears at Rogers Rd

Lol, try driving in Calgary. All the major streets just end suddenly because they hit a river.

Arthur Ho-Wong :
The Don Valley is very deep so when the Toronto street grid was being laid out, it was difficult to build across the valley. As a result, certain major arteries like St Clair are not continuous

Keele street stops at Roger’s Road, Dufferin Street stops at Allen Road and continue that Wilson Ave

There's a street in Winnipeg that's continuous but changes names I think 8 times? Same with Memorial in TBay!

Dundas and College run parallel to each other but if you go far enough west (just past Lansdowne), they intersect?!

For Leslie there is a huge gap because of the Don Valley being there right at Eglinton. St.clair is the same type of thing.

They’re both old rural concession streets that are interrupted by the ravines.

while we're on it, I wish they would have removed the South from South kingsway. I always think I missed the exit because I don't want to go towards the water but that's what the street is called

I used to live in a small village. The front of my house was on Percy St the back was on Old Percy Rd. Old Percy ended at some woods and the other half of it was in the next town 1/2
