Team Mom. Having to entertain guests while healing, bonding, and cleaning is exhausting. Help or leave. Husband needs to step up.

We need to stop the stigma that new moms have to do it all. It’s hard and actual help is definitely needed. I had a c-section and everything was HARD!

When my sister had her 2nd baby, my mom, grandma, and I went and cleaned her whole house, cooked for her and her husband, and ran errands for her 1/2

My MIL and GIL came to visit and made my husband do the housework 😅 my mil would even step in and say “baby needs momma” if people were hogging my baby. That was the first time I met her. I love her

Isn't it customary to bring food for the mom and help with dishes, vacuuming and other light chores? Like who just shows up and tries to take the baby

unless they're actively doing things you struggle with of course they aren't helpful! if they can't handle being told that then that's their problem 😑 def NTA

Husband should have stepped up and explained what help was needed if they actually wanted to help.

My friend just had her first bb, I've held her once so far only when she asked me to. The rest of the time I've helped w dishes, putting together some bb furniture, etc. Be there for the parent!

Do some chores for a new mom if that's what they need... Even if it's cleaning a few dishes. Do what THEY need, not what you want. Geeeez

when I got pregnant with my daughter, her dad told me the baby's care was my responsibility alone and the household chores were too. I stayed with my grandmother for a month after she was born.

omg some people need to understand that when new moms get out of the hospital they don't want other people around that is their time to bond and heal everyone else needs to wait till parents are ready

Where is the partner playing interference for mom? He should be the one setting those boundaries with his family while she is in recovery
