@annsvan: For Mental Health Awareness Month I decided to rent a camper van from @indie_campers and get back outdoors and explore Sedona, Arizona. It’s been a long path to recovery for me since I broke my back and then my wrist over 4 months ago. I can’t say I am fully recovered physically, I still have a long road ahead of me and I am hopeful I will be 100% by the end of the year. One of the hardest parts about my recovery is keeping a positive mindset while feeling trapped at my sister’s house laying in bed the majority of the time, while also doing physical therapy. I am used to being extremely independent, fueling my creative spirit by doing hard things and building stuff on my own. Having to ask for help, and then accept help has been one of the hardest parts of my recovery. Finally being back on the road in this fancy van from Indie Campers has really enabled me to feel like myself again, even if it’s just for a short period of time. The things I do to improve my mental health are: Meditate Spend time in nature Practice gratitude Drive somewhere new (wheels are my new legs and they take me much further through my recovery) Travel Listen to Podcasts Cuddle my pets Spend time with my loved ones Be patient with myself This is now my second time to rent a camper van from @Indie Campers and they have vans located all over the world.
